Cafe con Leche: Black, Brown, or Light
“Colorism? What do you mean? I don’t see color………”
Join the Young Latino Network for an overdue conversation -Colorism in the Latino/Latina/Latinx/Latine community. Because, you know, you don’t look “Spanish”….. *Insert eye roll here*
As many of us are well aware, although many others are not, our community comes in all beautiful shades. Let’s talk about are shared and individual experiences to learn from one another and better understand colorism within our own community and other communities.
Has someone ever made you feel you too black, white, light, mulato/a/x, gringo/a/x, negro/a/x, to be a Latino/Latina/Latinx/Latine person?
Do you struggle making a single selection under the “Race” portion of a survey or questionnaire?
Let’s talk about our experiences! WE have all faced it in one way or another.
This is a brave space to talk about resources, experiences, and so much more.
We hope you join us this 4th Friday!
