Great Lakes Conference on Refugee Resilience and Integration: Pr
Join The Refugee Services Collaborative of Greater Cleveland for a symposium that will highlight critical issues for the United States refugee population, including challenges to addressing behavioral health needs and overall integration due to culture and experiences of trauma, torture and loss as well as the challenges facing the integration of vulnerable refugee communities and emerging solutions underway across the nation. This two-day symposium will feature plenary sessions including one with our featured speaker Jason Stearns (author of Dancing in the Glory of Monsters: The Collapse of the Congo and the Great War of Africa and Senior Fellow and Director of the Congo Research Group at NYU’s Center for International Concerns), a variety of workshop sessions divided between morning and afternoon, and PechaKucha presentations from refugees resettled in the region during the past five to ten years.
At this conference, you will have many opportunities to engage and network with local, regional and national professionals from the fields of social service, healthcare, education, housing, and workforce development. CEUs will be available for attending this event.
