ONE WORLD DAY
Travel the World in One Day – The 74th Annual Cleveland One World Day will be held on August 25, 2019, from 11 am to 6 pm. This councilmanic event with Councilman Kevin Conwell is also hosted by the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation. Free parking is available at the VA Employee Garage and Cleveland Metroparks, with free shuttle bus rides to and from the Cultural Gardens.
This string of 30+, and growing, unique Cultural Gardens on over 200 acres along MLK Blvd and East Blvd. is dedicated to peace and mutual understanding through sharing its achievements and contributions to the betterment of society. Within the gardens are numerous depictions of significant personalities in the pursuit of peace; Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Confucius, music; Liszt, Beethoven, literature; William Shakespeare, James Joyce, Mark Twain, and sciences; Nikola Tesla, Leonardo Da Vinci, Madame Curie among many others. It is through this recognition of each culture’s contributions that the true understanding among people can take place.
The 74th One World Day is a celebration of the Cultural Gardens and all that they represent. Each garden showcases its unique traditions through education, dance, music, and food. Also part of the day is a Parade of Flags and a swearing in ceremony for newly naturalized US citizens performed by a Federal Judge. This annual event has grown over the years and has become a must-attend event.
